Arterium Corporation has set up an online forum for doctors
Increase of coverage and access to Internet resources brings about convenient alternatives to conventional methods of specialized information exchange. In December 2013, a project “Ask opinion leader” was launched on the official website of Arterium Corporation.
Now, doctors from any region of the country may address their questions to leading Ukrainian specialists in medicine and receive expert opinions, recommendations about therapy schemes, practical use of medicinal products, or complicated diagnoses. For this purpose, all the doctor has to do is access the website, select the branch, and leave his/her question. The answers are published for free access in 2 weeks. The topics for discussion were selected by the company with consideration of their urgency and lack of freely accessible information. Thus, one of the first topics of the project was “Modern antibiotic therapy and antibiotic prophylaxis”. “This issue was selected because the problem of antibiotic resistance is rather urgent for Ukraine as well as other countries”, says Maksim Verbilov, Director of Antibacterials branch of Arterium Corporation. “Awareness of antibiotic resistance of the most frequently isolated disease agents allows selecting adequate antibiotic therapy and, consequently, greatly improves the number of successful therapy outcomes”.
Experts for Arterium Corporation project were selected with consideration of doctors’ questioning. The study results have determined the specialists with the weightiest opinions. Till the end of February, doctors may address their questions to two experts: Professor O. Zharinov, topic “Therapy of chronic cardiac failure”, and Professor I.Berezniakov, “Aspects of modern antibiotic therapy and antibiotic prophylaxis”. In March, the project will be joined by Professor Yu.Sirenko with topic “Arterial hypertension” and Professor T. Mishchenko, who will answer the questions on “Cerebrovascular diseases”.
Thus, informational-educational campaign among doctors conducted by medical representatives of pharmaceutical companies will now be supplemented by a new online forum.
