Arterium Participates in the "World Pharmacies-2024" Congress
This annual large-scale event in Ukraine brings together players in the pharmacy retail and distribution sectors, professionals in the pharmaceutical industry, and regulatory bodies.
At the event, industry experts introduced participants to promising trends in the development of distribution and retail, discussed investments in the pharmaceutical sector, and presented analytical reviews and economic forecasts for the development of the Ukrainian pharmaceutical market. This, in turn, will help build business development strategies.
Strategizing needs to be based on changes and initiatives from regulators, which was another key topic of the congress. Serhii Sur, Director of Arterium LTD, addressed this. The Doctor of Pharmaceutical Sciences compared WHO's Good Regulatory Practice with the current regulatory practice in Ukraine. In his presentation, Serhii Sur proposed improvements to Ukraine's regulatory system for pharmaceuticals and other "pharmacy basket" items. Implementing these improvements would harmonize the system with EU requirements and ensure the accessibility, safety, effectiveness, and guaranteed quality of medical products.
This requires not only the development and implementation of new additional regulatory documents and procedures but also the cancellation of outdated regulatory requirements that hinder market development and waste significant resources of both regulators and pharmaceutical market players without any benefit.
