Taking into account the limited gentamicin therapeutic range, the drug should be used in those cases when microorganisms are resistant to other antibiotics. Gentamicin sulfate is indicated for the treatment of infections due to pathogens susceptible to the drug, including: septicemia; urinary tract infection; lower respiratory tract diseases; infections of skin, bones, soft tissue, infected burning wounds; CNS infections (meningitis) in combination with β-lactam antibiotics; peritoneal infection (peritonitis).
